Eximius Middle School to phase out starting this fall
There is a letter from Eximius to parents stating that the Middle School will be phased out, beginning this September with no new 6th grade, due to limited space and the school’s need to focus on the 9-12 grades.
Eximius is among the worst of the worst, one of the top three schools on the Do Not Apply list. It is a horrendous place to work, and former employees come away shellshocked by the experience. Students are treated poorly. It does a lousy job in every respect.
It is good that they are losing three grades, but the high school will remain open, and that is not good. The whole thing should be shut, and the principal should be removed.
I’ll either reproduce or retype the letter, and post it here in the next day or so.
HOW COME THE LETTER DID NOT COME FROM DOE AND CAN THE SCHOOL MAKE AN ANNOUNCEMENT LIKE THIS WITHOUT DOE APPROVAL?
Me: (Imagining a rally in which someone demands in Reaganesque tones, “Mr. Klein…..tear down this school!”)
As they say, “what goes around comes around”.
But unfortunately no one will remember that this school was closed down or that the Principal was removed when someone whose reputation was destroyed at this school is being interviewed.
We can only hope that human beings in positions to hire will take these facts (ie:ineffective leadership, horrible students, etc) into consideration when considering an individual who taught at this school. Something tells me that they won’t and the stain of this school will become indellible.

And someone please tell me how a Principal gets a bonus one year and part of school is shut down 2 years later.
Thank CSA for that and the contracts.
The NYCDOE did publish a letter about the phasing out of the middle school at Eximius. In fact, the letter reportedly came directly from the Chancellor’s office. However, the parents of the middle school students were the only parents to recieve this letter, as it was not mailed out to the parents of the students in the high school at Eximius.
But there is no proof that letter was sent out, since no one seems to have any knowledge of it or actually saw the letter. Oh well…
