[...] The 2005 NYC teachers contract was a disaster. Negotiated away rights and time in return for cash. Bit by bit we are getting a grip on how much damage was done. [...]

The 2005 contract is "unsmart." We are not getting more pay, we are working more. To boot, open market only benefits new teachers. Since age is a privilege we should all look forward to, new teachers will become old, one day.
The loss of seniority in clustering for positions was a tremendous mistake. In my school, very good teachers are having their careers and self esteem ruined by letters in their files. They can't leave because the principal blacklists them to other principals. It is very sad.

August 25, 2006. Updated links to Salary Step Placement and Salary Differential forms. DoE must have done the changeover from www.nycenet.edu to schools.nyc.gov this week, and the old (just 1 week!) links died.

The UFT web site has lots of good information, and quite a bit that needs updating. It has been improving, but slowly. When you find bad links, please e-mail them and let them know.

The correct tables are at the UFT site. Click "Member Services." The page is divided into 4 horizontal strips of links. On the left hand side of the third strip is "money matters." The 3rd link is salary schedules.

When you tell them about the bad links, let them know what you clicked to get there. That will help them either update that link, or delete it.

Congratulations on finding an updated salary chart/pay scale. When I use the links on the UFT's web site all I get is the salary chart form Sept. 2002.
